Bottomless lake is a high‑mountain location with a 4–6 hour hike or access by vehicle; the best season is July–September. The route requires stamina, but the views and silence are worth it.

The lake sits at about 2320 m on the Arkasara ridge. Its second name is Voronka due to the basin shape.
Description: one of the most scenic lakes in Arkhyz with cold, transparent water.
Highlights: depth around 74 meters, gentle entry then a sharp drop. Rhododendrons grow around the shore and snow patches stay in early summer.
Route: a hike to Bottomless lake is possible, as well as ATV rides or a jeep tour. A route via Phia pass is also used.
Reviews: visitors mention clean water and quiet atmosphere, but note steep sections on the trail.
How to get to Bottomless lake from Arkhyz. Available by jeep and snowmobile.
How to get there: the hiking route takes 4 to 6 hours. By ATV the trip is 1.5 to 2 hours on dirt roads. Trails are not marked, so GPS is recommended.
What to bring: waterproof shoes, a warm layer, water and documents.
June to October is the most accessible season. The water is cold and swimming is only for confident swimmers.







In winter the route is harder and needs preparation.
